Heidelberg recognised for digital print

The NexPress 2100 digital production colour press was honoured with BERTL’s best high-end CRD colour device award, while the Digimaster 9150i print system was named the best high-end monochrome CRD device — following in the footsteps of the Digimaster 9110 system, which won the award in 2002.

The Digimaster 9110m system for Magnetic Ink Character Recognition (MICR) printing and the Hole Puncher 9110 were recognized for outstanding innovation and design, high-end CRD devices. Both garnered added praise by being cited by BERTL as “revolutionary.”

“BERTL’s high recognition further demonstrates that, across the board, Heidelberg offers industry-leading digital solutions,” says Wolfgang Pfizenmaier, Heidelberg Digital Print Solution Centre president.

“We are delighted that our print systems are deemed the best products of the year, but we are not resting on our laurels. We remain committed to refining our solutions to make them even more productive for our customers.”

The BERTL Best of 2003 awards are the latest industry recognition for Heidelberg’s digital portfolio. Earlier this year, BERTL bestowed its Five Star “Exceptional” rating on the Digimaster 9150i system.

Established in 1990, BERTL (Digital Test Lab) conducts more independent, hands-on evaluations of digital imaging systems than any other product reviewer. In determining its annual Digital Office Awards, BERTL investigates changes in buying dynamics, researches the innovative approaches taken by manufacturers and analyses data on the hundreds of devices it has evaluated in the preceding 12 to 18 month period.
