Hot Goss beefs up engineer ranks

Goss International has boosted its staff to eight engineers in Australia to cater for demand from printers such as Rural Press and Offset Alpine, which have recently upgraded their support contracts with the press manufacturer.

Goss said printers responded to its aftermarket Goss lifetime support services such as maintenance and enhancements, which helped Australian commercial and newspaper printers complete projects and lift productivity of their presses.

“We have a wealth of experience in service, parts delivery and press enhancements, all of which can benefit our customers and help to support the productivity of installed presses at a time when new press investments may not be possible,” said Matt Sharkady, Goss Australia general manager.

He said its customers have access to lifetime support services including press maintenance, repairs and spare parts, rebuilds, routine service and phone support. Goss also had enhancements for older presses, he said.

“Folder audits and rebuilds are currently a popular choice for our customers,” he said.

“A qualified engineer visits the facility to complete an audit and spends a day checking various items including cams, jaws, bearings, gears, and other parts known to wear over a period of time. The result is a detailed report of the folder condition, including a list of parts and a labour estimate required to bring the folder back to original operating specifications.”
