How to enter the ProPrint Awards (and win)

The 2022 ProPrint Awards will be held on Thursday October 27 at 6pm at the Shangri-la Hotel in Sydney and nominations are now open.

So now is the time to get your nominations in for the Printer 50 (formerly Power 50), Emerging 50, Supplier 50 and Industry Achievement Award.

Here is a rundown of how the Awards work and what you need to do:

Self-nominations are accepted, and you can nominate more than one person.

Printer 50: Formerly known as the Power 50, this award recognises senior print leaders. Once nominees have accepted their nomination and answered some questions, peer judging is then undertaken to determine the Top 20. External, independent auditors will then review the results. Nominees from 30-50 will be announced and published alphabetically.

Emerging 50: Recognises rising stars from all parts of print with around five years’ experience. Nominees can be considered for the Emerging 50 alphabetical listing OR they can apply for the Mentorship Prize, delivered by The Real Media Collective which includes a $1000 voucher with the Australian Institute of Management. This requires a reference from their supervisor and answers to some further questions.

Supplier 50: Recognises those who service and supply the industry. Recipients are judged on the quality of their submissions based over the last 12 months. All winners are announced at the ProPrint Awards and published in ProPrint December.

Industry Achievement Award: An exclusive award honouring someone with at least 25 years’ experience. The winner is judged by the 2021 Power 50 Top Ten and Platinum Sponsor Durst Oceania. The winner will be announced at the ProPrint Awards and published in December 2022 ProPrint.

Some frequently asked questions….

Can I self-nominate?

YES. You can also be nominated by a colleague. If you receive multiple ‘Congratulations’ emails that means lots of people have nominated you – so you are very popular! BUT you only have to complete your submission – ie answer the questions, submit a photo – ONCE.

Can multiple nominees come from the same company?

YES.

Does my chance of winning go up the more nominations I get?

NO. Many people may nominate you BUT you only need to make ONE submission and this is what will be assessed.

  • The Top 20 of the Printer 50 will be decided in a 100% peer-voted judging exercise. Each nominee will be sent a judging link to determine the Top 20. Nominees from 21 to 50 will be listed alphabetically.
  • The Emerging 50 Mentorship Prize is judged by an industry panel. All other nominees will be listed alphabetically.
  • Supplier 50 recipients will be judged on the quality of their submission based on their achievements over the last 12 months and will be listed alphabetically.
  • The Industry Achievement Award is decided by the 2021 Power 50 Top Ten and Platinum Sponsor Matt Ashman of Durst. All winners will be announced at the ProPrint Awards and published in the December 2022 issue of ProPrint.

What is the maximum industry experience for a Emerging 50 nominee?

Five years or less

How will I know if I have won?

Your name will be called at the ProPrint Awards on Thursday October 27 in Sydney. Your name, photo and a brief biography based on your submission will be published in the December 2022 issue of ProPrint.
