
These included the first HP Scitex large-format printers using HP Latex Inks: the 3.2m HP Scitex LX800 and 2.6m HP Scitex LX600. Also launched are the FB500 and the TurboJet8600.
David Booth, graphic systems manager at CPI says, “HP continues to raised the bar in wide format display printing. The FB500 for instance has white ink functionality, the new Turbojet has a remarkable new glossing feature, while the new Latex systems fully print recyclable inks onto fully recyclable media.”
According to Booth the FB500 will appeal to screen printers looking to get into digital, print shops needing a wide ink capability, and start up companies. The new Latex printers are aimed at printers looking to produce sav, vehicle wraps, banners and posters.
HP says its Scitex LX800 features roll-to-free fall, roll-to-collector and dual-roll (up to two 1.52-m/60-inch rolls) capabilities an output of 1200 dpi resolution at up to 88m²/hr for outdoor billboards and 45m²/hr for indoor applications.
The company says its new Scitex FB500 UV flatbed printer features a 163-cm print width and optional white ink capabilities and allows remote monitoring via the HP embedded web server and an onboard camera. HP’s new Scitex TJ8600 features full and selective gloss print modes with new HP TJ210 Scitex Inks with applications for most fleet graphics and point-of-purchase applications, according to HP.
The new HP Designjet Z5200 PostScript Printer made its debut at Ipex. Aimed at small commercial print businesses interested in entering the large-format market, the 112-cm printer includes new HP Instant Printing Pro software for file preparation and automating production tasks. It is compatible with new ColorPro papers.
