Hunkeler celebrates 90 year benchmark

Hunkeler AG was founded as a sole proprietorship, Josef Hunkeler, for the trade and sale of graphic machines in 1922 has since grown into a leading provider worldwide of pre and post solutions in digital print and web finishing.

Over time, the innovative technology coming from the Swiss town of Wikon has had a considerable impact on the development and progress of the paper-processing industry.

Hunkeler claims its ability to stand its ground in the market over such a long period of time is partly attributable to the fact that it has always been family-owned and has hence retained its financial and corporate independence to the present day.

Stefan Hunkeler, a third-generation member of the family, has managed the Swiss company which now employs 250 staff since 2003. The company’s management says that thanks to this continuity, customers and partners can continue to trust Hunkeler AG as a provider of innovative solutions in future.

Meanwhile, the extension of the company’s headquarters will include 2,000sqm of new space, most of which will be available to customers and partners in the form of demonstration and training centres.

Hunkeler AG currently has more than 6,000 installations worldwide.
