The UK-based manufacturer has positioned the new configuration between the machine’s existing 16 and 25-pass modes and is pitched at jobs that include large areas of solid colour.

The Onset S20, completed with the fastest 12-pass mode, now offers users four production option that adjust print quality to meet the output criteria.

Dr Linda Bell, chief executive of Inca Digital, said the range of pass modes will cater for varying customer requirements.

She said: “Different jobs require different levels of image quality, depending on their content and the viewing distance, which translates into different numbers of printhead passes during printing.

“For busy graphics viewed at a distance, such as large hoardings or in-store graphics placed at some height from the floor, 12 passes may well suffice, while for high-impact, closely-viewed POS or posters with challenging solid colours such as reds and purples, 25 passes will yield the best quality results.”

Customers of the 310sqm an hour Onset S20 are eligible for the upgrade for free while the improvements will be as standard on new models.

The Inca range is distributed locally by Fujifilm Australia.
