Increase in agencies drives ASAP Repairs to set up sales arm

ASAP’s Matthew Benn told ProPrint that FAB (short for ‘Finishing And Binding Equipment’) was established to emphasise that ASAP was a sales agent as well as a servicing agent for vendors such as Watkiss, JBI and Rigo.

“Now we have a dedicated sales arm rather than just being a servicing company that sells machinery,” he said.

Daniel Attew from Watkiss Automation has relocated from the UK to Australia to head up FAB. He will begin work with the company on 17 January. Attew was the international technical sales executive at the UK-based manufacturer.

ASAP has also recently added German manufacturer MB Bäuerle to its portfolio, expanding its range of folders and inserters.

Benn said the growth of ASAP has been organic, rather than as the result of any concerted growth plan.

“We didn’t really plan to grow this quickly,” he said.

“But because more manufacturers have come on board, it made sense for us to launch FAB now, rather than in a year or two when we’re already out there.”
