Inkdustrial offers special labels deal for OKI open week

As a premium reseller of the OKI Pro 9 & 10 range of commercial label and graphic arts printers and converters, Inkdustrial has been on hand to discuss the benefits of the handy, compact setup to printers this week at OKI headquarters in Macquarie Park.

As part of a special deal, Inkdustrial sales manager, John Bryson, is also offering any printer that takes up the offer a free set of toner, in addition to what is included on purchase, and extra rolls of labels to help get any printer started. Installation and training is also included.

He says the range is perfect for servicing the growing movement towards the ‘side hustle’ and for printers looking to tap into the booming demand for shortrun, bespoke labels.

The range includes the OKI Pro 9542 which is designed for light-production use and can print CMYK plus white in a single pass with standout results on a wide range of light, dark and transparent media. This piece of equipment can also have an extra attachment added which enables pouches to be printed on direct, eliminating the need for adhering labels.

The Pro 1050 Label Printer uses digital LED and dry toner technology to print in CMYK plus white, which allows for a far greater flexibility when it comes to label design and stocks.

Bryson says both options have the potential to open up new revenue streams for printers, looking to add a new dimension to their business and meet the growing demand for shortrun labels and packaging.

“Another really good feature in using these products is there is no click charge. You buy your consumables and that’s it. It means you are not tied into contracts, but you are tied into a solution because businesses evolve all the time,” Bryson told Sprinter.

OKI are targeting end-user design studios and bespoke producers with the range, but also print businesses looking to set up a new revenue stream with a compact, quick, easy-to-use set-up which enables quick turnarounds for short run labels without a major investment.

The OKI Pro range marks the company’s first foray out of the office space and into the commercial graphics sector.

The Pro 1050 Label Printer prints 130mm wide and the Virgo converter, which is also available through Bryson, can handle 140mm media widths.

Recently, Yianni Moratidis at GENR8 Printing invested in the Pro 1050 Label Printer, but added the wider 220mm Virgo converter, to ensure he had the capability to handle a wider label run if that is the path he takes in the future.

Bryson said he has been impressed with the way OKI have been taking on customer feedback about what is needed in the market.

“This is a manufacturer and they are feeding information back to Japan for what we want and what our customers want. The reality is this is a brand that is seeking feedback from the market,” Bryson said.

“This is not an arm’s length English converted to Japan conversation. We have a labels specialist here with Steven Richards and a marketing specialist with Michelle Rochford.”
