The international section of the biannual visual communication industry awards, which this year was judged in Bangkok, saw over 200 finalists selected from thousands of entries.
Omnigraphics’ ‘Little Thriller; promotion of Instant Kiwi – entailing lift-floor graphics that depicted the floors as caved in with fire raging beneath – was considered the most relevant and ground-breaking entry from an advertiser’s point of view.
“The clever use of the lift as a medium combined with an astonishing design made this promotion for a lottery totally unexpected,” said MACtac.
“High quality graphics with a tri-dimensional effect help grab the attention of the lift users.”
Fellow New Zealand company, Off the Planet, earned a special jury mention for its work on 25 Smart Fortwo vehicles:
“A strong impact has been created for the Kiwibank Mobile Banking and a great technical performance has been achieved.”
A special jury mention in the international exterior sign category was also given to CPL Services of Australia.
“Accumulation of photos depicts the multicultural diversity of modern day Australia. It creates a strong impact and contributes to the city ‘animation’.”
Trans-Tasman recipients of highly-commended citations included:
