Ipex lands another big name, forecasts up to 500 exhibitors

Ipex has now sold almost 80% of its floor space after Goss became the latest name to commit to the re-energised show.

The US manufacturer confirmed it would take a 63sqm space focused on hospitality and customer engagement.

Marketing manager Eric Bell said: We know that a tranche of our overseas clients will be there, and at the same time we have a lot of ongoing projects underway with UK customers, so it’s an ideal opportunity to show our commitment to the market."

Screen Europe has also confirmed that it will show products from its Truepress Jet high-speed inkjet range on its 285sqm Ipex booth.

President Brian Filler said holding the London trade show in March next year was perfect timing for Screen.

"It kicks off the financial year nicely as industry confidence returns and the economy around the world shows signs of recovery," he said.

Ipex was hit by a spate of withdrawals in late 2012 and early 2013, but received good news in the past month with the return of Duplo and the partial return of Komori.

Event director Trevor Crawford said that 45% of the show's pre-registrations had come from the UK and 55% from overseas.

"We have right-sized the show at 42,000sqm, and it’s still huge," he said.

"Close to 80% of the available space is sold. I believe we’ve moved from being a trade show to being an event. We have set ambitious targets and we hope to push the average visitor stay from two days to two-and-a-half or three days."

Crawford forecast that Ipex would attract 450-500 exhibitors, with half that number already confirmed.
