Brady Lee, IPG’s Production Manager, says “when we weighed the two alternatives we decided that running with an existing vendor’s solution made much more sense, as we have heard some horror stories about companies trying to develop their own system and running way over time and budget.”
After reviewing various vendors’ solutions IPG selected Online Print Solutions OPS OrderDesk with the business card module OPS CardXpress. Lee says, “after looking at all possible solutions available we found that the products offered by Online Print Solutions provided us with the greatest flexibility and broadest range of features that our clients require.”
In addition to allowing their clients to order stock items, edit and proof business cards OPS OrderDesk has also been fully integrated into IPG’s MIS system, PrismWin. The integration enables clients’ orders to be automatically converted into job tickets, stock levels adjusted to reflect orders and allows clients to see real-time stock levels.
IPG now has over 70 customers using OPS OrderDesk with clients so far giving extremely positive feedback. “IPG has always put customer satisfaction as its highest priority and OPS OrderDesk gives our clients an incredibly user-friendly experience,” says Lee.
In fact IPG has been so impressed with the implementation of OPS OrderDesk that they are now seriously looking at other products in Online Print Solutions suite of web-based applications “with particular interest in OPS NexJob and OPS InSync,” Lee says.
NexJob is an online file submission application that solves many of the problems associated with accepting artwork from end users. Artwork submitted by the user is converted to PDF on the server using fully customisable print settings. A PDF proof is then displayed to the user ensuring the client is always viewing an accurate proof, whilst the printer is supplied with a print-ready PDF file.
OPS InSync enables approved users to participate in a proofing session and view in real-time the edits they and their colleagues are making directly onto the artwork. In effect it allows the group to be in the same virtual room editing directly onto a hard copy proof whether they are in Perth, Melbourne or Sydney. OPS InSync enables printers to get their clients’ jobs, and importantly their invoices, out the door faster.
