Australia’s second-biggest printer, the Hannan family’s Independent Print Media Group (IPMG) is rebranding to reflect an ‘omni-channel’ approach to communications, taking the spotlight off print. The spelled-out acronym is nowhere to be seen on the company’s new website, and its tagline now reads ‘Empowering Brands to Connect,’ which it says better reflects the shared vision of its subsidiaries. Kevin Slaven, CEO of IPMG, says the rebrand does not herald changes for the print side of the business, and print is still as important to the group as it always has been.

He tells AP, “People know us for our print brands: Hannanprint, Offset Alpine and Inprint. They know less of our other businesses like Holler, Traction and SBM. “The rebrand is about showing the evolution of the group as a whole, it is about acknowledging that we have a bunch of other ancillary services outside of print that we are offering our customers these days. “We are in print and we are here to stay. As print technology evolves we will still be investing in it, alongside the variety of marketing communications services that the group provides to clients.” IPMG now describes itself as ‘Australia’s largest privately owned marketing communications group.’ It says in a statement, “As marketing channels, product development and technology have evolved, so too has IPMG to such a degree that the original brand no longer accurately reflects the position of the company in the marketplace. “Today, IPMG stands as a diverse group of marketing communications companies with a network that includes Creative, Production and Engagement Agencies; Digital Media; Hosting and Managed Services; Public Relations and Communications; Heat Set and Sheet Fed Printing, Direct Mail and Packaging.” IPMG companies include digital creative agency Holler, Traction Digital, marketing group SBM, Independent Digital Media (IDM) and PR and social group Spectrum. On the print side it also owns Hannanprint, which last year opened the biggest new print plant in the country at Warwick Farm, award-winning Offset Alpine, Inprint, Bolton Print and packager Inpack. Slaven says, “The company will continue to organically grow and make additional investments in marketing communications businesses to further enhance its service offering and to enable customers to engage with their audiences even more effectively. “No other privately owned group of companies in Australia today can provide the same breadth of seamless communications across both emerging and traditional channels to drive customer engagement. “Customers are now taking an omni-channelled approach to their marketing, which means IPMG can engage a more extensive range of our services to the same customer.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v25S3mYU1sA&feature=youtu.be
