Kaaren Lewis new Canon sales manager

Kaaren Lewis is the new Canon Australia general manager of sales for business services, which includes production print.

Lewis comes from the information and communications technology (ICT) field, working with companies including Dell.

Canon says that the skills and relationships gained within the ICT industry that she will bring to the role make her appointment an ‘industry coup’.

“We believe that with her depth of skills, experience, relationships and network across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific she will greatly contribute to our success and establish a strong foundation for the future,” says Canon.

Lewis has a background across software, hardware and services in both the vendor and the channel communities within Australia and New Zealand. Her background encompasses skills across sales, marketing, business development, strategy, operating frameworks, commercial contracts, P&L, and CXO engagement.

Lewis says that she is excited to be in the new role, and surprised at the scope of Canon’s operations.

She says she looks forward to leveraging Canon’s entire portfolio to get tailored solutions for customers in production print.

“Canon’s focus on R&D, with its broad portfolio of IT solutions, alongside its acquisitions of Converga, and Harbour IT, allows me to take a holistic view when dealing with customers. Whether it is production print, network security, or cloud services, what is important is understanding the entire portfolio to meet the customers’ needs.”

She recognises a general trend for larger print companies to diversify, offering more technological solutions, digital platforms, and IT services.

“The consumption of technology by businesses has changed a lot in the past few years. In ICT generally you are seeing a broadening of portfolios so that companies can provide insight to customers,” says Lewis.

“It is allowing us to do traditional print, but also managed services, while being able to work from the cloud. It is letting customers choose their needs and how they want to use technology.”
