Kayell to supply low-cost Epson colour printer

Epson has signed imaging and print services specialist Kayell Australia, as an authorised dealer for its Replaceable Ink Pack System printers – Rips. The WorkForce Pro Rips was shown by Epson at PrintEx, and offers low cost colour digital printing, with up to 75,000 colour pages befor the ink needs changing. Andreas Johansson, sales director at Kayell says, “Kayell has been looking for a range of devices suited to various industry verticals that could resolve various problems some of our clients have had for some time such as the ability to produce envelopes and labels on the same device. Additionally, this printer is ideal as a proofing solution, to centralise all printing to a single device at lowest cost”. Epson says the new WorkForce Pro R5000 series and R8000 series printers allow customers to print high impact colour documents with ultra-low operating costs and minimal maintenance. Johansson continues, “By producing and releasing Rips technology Epson has combined the ability to cover general colour print requirements for day to day use whilst having the added bonus of utilising specific media stock to deliver perfect customer facing documentation and imagery. As a result Epson and its Rips printers are now an important part of Kayell’s technology solution moving forward.”

Epson says that by using WorkForce Pro Rips, companies looking to reduce their consumable cost per page can save up to 80 per cent when compared to equivalent lasers. In addition, the ultra-low power consumption associated with Epson’s Micro Piezo inkjet technology contributes to further savings of up to 70 per cent in power usage when compared to laser technology. The company says WorkForce Pro RIPS is also a compelling choice for environmentally conscious businesses. Offering the highest page yield in its class, WorkForce Pro Rips printers significantly reduce the need to stock many consumable items and parts. As a result storage, transport and logistics are all kept to a minimum, while eliminating the need to recycle empty cartridges.  Epson WorkForce Pro Rips printers are also equipped with Epson’s award winning, high density resin coated pigment ink – DuraBrite Pro. This new four colour (CMYK) ink set is water and smudge resistant and says Epson produces ultra sharp detail and vibrant coloured graphics on plain and specialty papers including semi-gloss, gloss and double sided matte up to 256gsm. The new WorkForce Pro RIPS models also feature Epson PrecisionCore technology, built-in connectivity features including Ethernet, USB, wireless b/g/n2 and Wi-Fi Direct to easily print from tablets and smartphones and include remote printing and access to the cloud.
