KBA highlights automation

Segger says, “KBA put plans in early in the GFC, which meant we are now in good shape. KBA has the broadest product range of any press manufacturer in sheetfed, webfed and security printing. The newspaper market is on the move again, particularly with the Commander CT series.”

KBA claims to be market leader in sheetfed packaging, and says its Rapida 106 with high automation and flexibility of production is proving a hit, with features such as inline foiling, automated logistics and Qualtronic quality control solutions meeting the needs of packaging printers.

Segger says, “In Australia at least 90 per cent of the presses we sell to packaging companies are fully specified, packaging printers here want to optimise their productivity and inline options. That isn’t necessarily the case in  the rest of the Asia Pacific region.”

Segger puts Australia on a par with Germany when it comes to press specification.

The new inkjet collaboration between KBA and the world’s biggest printer RR Donnolley was high on the topics being discussed on the KBA stand, but details are scarce at present, with KBA staff indicating that printers would have to wait until drupa before more details emerged.
