Kodak strikes gold with latest NexPress option

The vendor was grabbing the attention of visitors on the first day of PacPrint 2013 with Kodak Gold Dry, a fifth-unit colour, which is available on the NexPress SX2700 being shown at PacPrint.

The gold feature widens the possibilities for printers who want to add a further value proposition for their customers, according to Darren Yeates, Kodak’s digital business development manager.

The Kodak NexPress Gold Dry inks are the newest feature for the fifth unit on the NexPress, delivering a gold metallic sparkle effect using a gold tinted dry ink that enables a broad range of applications such as direct mail, certificates, photographs and tickets.

“It’s the first public showing in Australia,” Yeates told the PacPrint Daily. “Along with our other fifth-unit options, Gold Dry gives printers a chance to diversify and differentiate themselves in terms of the products they generate. At present there are some 800 qualified stocks and the range is growing all the time.”

A couple of sites in South Australia are looking closely at adoption of the Gold Dry ink, added Yeates.

He said he was confident of sales of the new SX2700 off the stand at this week’s show.

The NexPress SX2700 also features high-capacity feeders and delivery units, inline solutions and finishing modules for uninterrupted printing.

The NexPress Fifth Imaging Unit also offers  effect such as pearlescents and neon pink options.

Another new product at Kodak’s stand is version 6 of Prinergy. The vendor said: “Integrated with the new Kodak Preps Imposition 7 software and Kodak ColorFlow Software 2, Kodak’s workflow portfolio removes costs and increases efficiencies across the entire print value chain.”
