Kodak Versamark realigns R&D and appoints Asia Pacific MD

Under the new organisation, the research and development group reports directly to Nachum “Homi” Shamir, president of Kodak Versamark and vice president of Eastman Kodak Company. Named to the position of Vice President, Research and Development, is Randy Vandagriff, a 22-year veteran of the company and holder of multiple patents in continuous inkjet technology. Also named to key roles within the new organization are Mike Piatt, chief scientist, and Ed Brown, director of R& D Project Management.

In other executive-level appointments, Itzhak Savariego, chief operating officer for the company’s European region, assumes additional responsibilities for Asia-Pacific/Japan operations as managing director for these regions, and Keith Satterfield, formerly director of management information services, is chief information officer. Savariego, Satterfield and Patty Izor, controller for the company, join the general management team reporting to Shamir.

Commenting on the appointments, Shamir emphasized the importance of core technology and the global operations of the company.

“I am pleased to announce the realignment of the new Research and Development group that will provide a greater degree of visibility and focus to our technology and especially our highly experienced and dedicated engineers, scientists and technicians. I am confident that Randy will continue to advance our technology research and development into new frontiers of digital printing as well as to explore synergies and product opportunities of stream technology developed by our new parent. I am pleased to welcome Randy to my staff and excited for everyone in his organisation.

“I am also pleased to welcome Itzhak, Keith and Patty to my general management team. These individuals, highly expert in their respective disciplines, will provide leadership and cohesiveness in guiding our rapidly growing international business.”
