Konica Minolta opens new Aussie headquarters

Performing the honours on the day were Hiro Kaji, managing director of Konica Minolta, together with the Hon Maxine McKew MP for Bennelong, and David Cooke, executive general manager of Konica Minolta, along with the Japanese consul general. They were joined by and a host of printers and other customers as the ribbon was cut on the centre which will house many of KM’s 400 strong staff.

The print production centre will has been designed as a functioning printroom, and features the full gamut of KM’s digital print solutions, both hardware and software, including the top selling bizhub PRO series, and the Kodak NexPress, which KM is now selling. It also features the new bizhub PRO 1200 shown at PacPrint and now marked for full release.

Konica Minolta has travelled a long way in the commercial print market since its first serious entry four years ago at PacPrint 05, and is now regarded by the market as a significant player with serious solutions. It has installed a remarkable 500 bizhub PROs, with the rate of installation not letting up in the past year, despite the print industry’s economic woes.

The production printing division is headed by David Procter, with industry identities Brett Palmer and Eric Holtsmark, recently joined from EFI, also on the team.
