Konica Minolta trio bag BLIs

Konica Minolta has blitzed the Buyers Laboratory awards for the third year in a row, picking up three accolades for three of its printers. The bizhub Press C1100 colour printer, the bizhub Press 1052 monochrome machine and its bizhub Press 2250P monochrome big brother, each won praise from the judges. Grant Thomas, product marketing manager for production print at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia, says listening to customers has paid off in developing the machines.

He says, “To be awarded three Production Print Awards for 2015 indicates that Konica Minolta’s research and development is always striving to reach higher levels of productivity and reliability with value for printers.” Shaun Weir, owner of Kwik Kopy Bankstown, says his bizhub Press C1100 has doubled the copy shop’s output since its installation. He says, “This is due to the high productivity and registration accuracy the system supplies. “The speed of printing with reliability allows us to print on a range of media from NCR to 350gsm board with no problems.” The C1100 picked up a 2015 BLI award for Outstanding Colour Mid Volume Production Device. Judge David Sweetnam praises the machine’s consistency across the board, but particularly for colour.

The bizhub Press 1052 won Outstanding Light to Mid Volume Production Device for its productivity and media handling capabilities. Judge Pete Emory says, “The bizhub PRESS 1052 offers a blend of everything that is most important in monochrome production environments. “It is highly productive, offers media-handling capabilities and its input and output paper capacities are so high it can run for about eight hours before requiring operator attention.” Combining two bizhub Press 1250P engines working in tandem and driven by a single Konica Minolta controller, the bizhub Press 2250P picked up Outstanding Monochrome Mid to High Volume Production Device. Judges praised its paper handling, productivity and range of adjustments to improve image quality. It features job building and page-level programming capabilities, drag and drop hot folders, media catalogue and Tone Curve grey programming.
