Kosdown Printing unites digital and offset arms in ‘custom-built’ factory

The firm has stayed in Port Melbourne, but relocated to a new “custom-built facility” about three kilometres away in which “offset and digital are finally under the one roof”.

Kosdown, run by managing director David Downie, won a silver medal for ‘self-promotion’ at this year’s Victorian PICAs and also won a silver in 2011 for ‘limited editions or art reproductions’.

Its digital kit includes a six-colour Agfa Anapurna large-format printer, a Vutek QS3220 and Aristo cutter, according to the firm’s website.

“We [also] run two A2+ offset presses 24 hours a day, and unlike many printers we can do all binding, stitching, forme-cutting and more in-house.”

Kosdown could not be reached for comment. A factory-warming party is expected to be held soon.
