KW Doggett scores new Polar machines

Nathan Doggett, national sales manager, KW Doggett, says “The motivation for the purchase of the two Polar guillotines is to update our finishing equipment. We sell a variety of specialty, coated, and uncoated papers. We have also developed our packaging range of papers and the new guillotines will assist us greatly.”

Glenn Devallance, NSW operations manager, KW Doggett, says, “The Polar 137N+, the larger machine with a cutting size of 113.7 x 145cm, will improve productivity as well as OH&S with the addition of the Transomat automatic unloading system. This guillotine is highly automated and removes many of the manual handling tasks, making it much easier for the operator.”

He sees the new OptiKnife knife changing system on the Polar 137N+ as an improvement on past models. He says “On this model the new knife changing feature dramatically reduces down time compared to the old guillotines.”

Richard Timson, general manager sales Northern Region NSW, Heidelberg, was at drupa where Doggett’s signed for the two new machines. He says, “A trade fair the size of drupa allows our customers to view the latest equipment in action. At drupa Doggett’s was able to see the advantages of the high level of automation the new generation machines feature.”

With its head office in Melbourne, KW Doggett Fine Paper employs upwards of 200 staff across four states (Victoria, NSW, Queensland and South Australia) and sources papers and boards from accredited paper mills around the world.

Timson concludes, “We’ve enjoyed a long-standing relationship with KW Doggett and the company has used Polar guillotines for many years. These machines are robust, highly productive and when backed by our service and support, a sound investment.”
