Kyocera to acquire France-based inkjet print engines producer Nixka

Kyocera has made an agreement to acquire 100 per cent of inkjet print engine and system manufacturer Nixka, which will thereafter operate as Kyocera Nixka Inkjet Systems.

Kyocera said it made the move as since 2007, it has been expanding its digital printing business to serve new applications in commercial and industrial printing.

In addition, as Kyocera’s high-speed inkjet printheads have become key devices within industrial inkjet printers, it said gaining a strong market position by enabling digital printing at high speed and high resolution was necessary.

Nixka, established in 2020, develops, manufactures and sells high-efficiency, high-quality inkjet print engines and systems with more than 30 years of experience, and has the differentiating advantage of integrated services that target specific customer needs.

Its print engines and systems utilise Kyocera’s flagship inkjet printhead products, and are optimised in advance for easy use by customers with no inkjet printing expertise.

“Given the trend toward custom, small-lot printing, demand for Nixka’s solutions is expected to increase,” Kyocera said.

“In acquiring NIXKA, Kyocera will expand its business into new markets, including print engines, systems and integrated services.

“Kyocera aims to maximise synergies by combining expertise from both companies and by promoting the widespread use of inkjet printing technologies by developing new products and applications, contributing to the printing industry as well as the further growth and development of the Kyocera Group.”
