‘Lean’ philosophy unveiled

The system, which Toyota has championed to become both the world’s highest selling and producing automobile manufacturer, is now being applied in other industry sectors with “huge success”, says Productivity Solutions.

“Lean is about doing more with less — less time, less inventory, less space, less people effort and less money,” said the training facilitator.

“Lean is about speedy response and getting it right the first time.”

PrintNZ members are able to attend Productivity Solutions workshop offering for about NZ$400.

“The workshop offers attendees an insight into well-recognised, topical and much-discussed business process improvement tools, which so far have found only little entry into the New Zealand print industry. The workshop will provide simple and practical solutions to improving your company’s productivity and bottom-line returns.

“The workshop’s main focus will be on improving labour productivity, which as reported in many places, New Zealand relative to most OECD countries is lagging badly behind.

“This workshop will open your staff’s minds to the concepts of world-class manufacturing and operational excellence and the motivated attendees will change your operation for a more competitive future.”
