Founded in 1879, JL Lennard is a family-owned fully Australian company that distributes machinery and supplies to the printing industry as well as many of the world’s leading packaging machines for the beverage, food and pharmaceutical industries; and food equipment for fast food outlets, restaurants, supermarkets and hotels;.
The Sydney head office completed its move earlier this year from West Ryde in Sydney to new headquarters at 42 Giffard Street, Silverwater, bringing itself closer to many of the customers it serves. The new premises – headquarters for JL Lennard’s national network of offices and warehouses – provide 3,500 sqm of space on a single level, comprising modern air-conditioned offices, a showroom, a spare parts repository, a training centre, a test kitchen and a clear-span warehouse with a ceiling height of up to six metres.
Set on a 4,515 sqm block with good transport access in one of Sydney’s prime distribution areas, the building accommodates more than 50 employees from the family of JL Lennard businesses – JL Lennard Packaging, JL Lennard Food Equipment and JL Lennard Graphics.
David Boekemann, managing director of JL Lennard, says, “The improved premises will benefit both the business and our customers by enabling us to increase our spare parts and stock holding areas considerably, as well as allowing greater efficiencies through better communication and access to all staff. To be vigorously expanding after recently celebrating our 125th year is living proof of the worth of business philosophies extending directly to the original founders of the business, Julius Levy and my grandfather William Boekemann who joined the company in 1884.
“Throughout the company’s history, we have always prized strong, open relationships in our dealings with customers, suppliers and staff, so as to deliver consistently high standards of quality, service and integrity”.
