LEP fibre optics improve turnaround

Trade printer LEP says a new fibre optic network at its production facilities will cut turnaround times and improve the reliability of its online services.

Chief executive John Bromfield says the use of fibre optic technology and ongoing upgrades to internal operations production processes is leading the company’s future success.

“It is a clear statement of the company’s ongoing commitment to state-of-the-art print services to the trade,” says Bromfield.

LEP’s Forest Glen site in Queensland is set to go live later this week, with the new Port Melbourne site expected to follow not long after.

LEP IT manager Michael Greenan says the fibre optic development will make the online order service seamless and reliable, and a failsafe system faster than ever.

He says the company will now be able to consistently meet customer expectations for turnaround times at every stage of the process and offer 24-hour printing.

“Customer experience is gauged by how easily they can navigate through our sites, how easily they can retrieve information, purchase products and follow their orders, subsequent print jobs and delivery requests,” Greenan says.

“It’s no good offering 24-hour printing unless your shop front is available 24 hours a day.”

LEP says that at least 98 per cent of the company’s orders currently meet their advised turnaround time, and 80 per cent were dispatched sooner than expected.
