LEP opens doors on Melbourne factory

Trade outfit LEP Colour Printers is up and running in Melbourne as it seeks to expand its customer base and offer faster turnaround times to clients in southern Australia.

The new 1561sqm Port Melbourne facility effectively doubles the company’s production capacity as it is practically a duplicate of LEP’s Forest Glen site in Queensland.

LEP is giving away sample kits valued at $150 to customers until September 30 to celebrate the opening.

The new factory is kitted out with a Ryobi 925 press, an Agfa Avalon N8 platesetter with Azura process-free plates and Heidelberg, G&K and Osako equipment.

The equipment will work to deliver faster turnarounds and freight times for customers in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania, ACT and even southern NSW.

LEP says those clients will have access to more than 200 next-day despatch print products, and be able to take advantage of cheaper freight costs, making their print even more competitive to end customers.

Chief executive John Bromfield says LEP has been preparing for the opening for some time and is happy it has turned out as hoped.

“All our customers will benefit from this new facility, with faster job turnarounds, guaranteed print quality, and even more responsive personal service,” he says.

“We are looking forward to welcoming new customers, especially in the southern states, to show them how we can assist them to grow their own business.”

The company says its head office and Queensland production facility remain unchanged, and will continue to service clients as normal.
