The event will take place at Doomben Racecourse on 1 September as part of the Spring Racing Carnival. A sponsors have already been announced, including Platypus Graphics, IPG Print, Fuji Xerox, DES Epson, Webstar, G2 Solutions, as well as the LIA Queensland.

LIA Queensland committee member Terry Mays told ProPrint that 80 people had already purchased tickets for the event.

“We want to get things back in the spirit of the old days. We want to get the camaraderie back. We want to get printers talking to each other again like they used to,” he said.

“These events are also about building our membership numbers. The more members we have, the more we can offer in the coming years.”

Mays added that the association was planning to hold a site tour of Brisbane-based The Printing Office soon, before finishing the year with the LIA Christmas Party.
