Steve Dunwell, managing director of manroland Australasia told Australian Printer at the event that the Customer Club was designed to create direct lines of communication between the senior management of local printers and the manroland board.
Peter Kuisle and Marco Falhauber travelled to Melbourne from Germany for the event. Kuisle is vice president for webfed sales at manroland and also chairman of the manroland Australasia board. Falhauber is vice president for print services. Kuisle told Australian Printer his focus was on the company’s new OneTouch automation for newspaper presses.
Dunwell said the local company’s focus on service over the past 18 months since the creation of manroland Australasia had reaped rewards for its customers, with many now achieving greater productivity with less waste.
Also invited were manroland Australasia partner companies Kodak, with new managing director Adrian Fleming presenting on integrating inkjet technology onto manroland presses, and Xingraphics, with Safwen Hijazi presenting.
Evening entertainment was provided by a visiting West African dance troupe, and mainly served to remind the printers present of the youth they once had and is now long gone.
