McDowall Print invests in Xerox Color 1000

Managing director John McDowall (pictured left) said the new machine enhances the offering to its clients, particularly primary producers in the meat and seafood industries.

“A number of materials, such as synthetic label stock, adhesives and non-adhesives can be run through this machine,” he says.

His son and company product manager Joseph McDowall (right) has received specific training to operate the machine.

“A percentage of what we are doing now is digital and our intention is to grow this area because of all the extra great features of this machine,” said Joseph.

“This machine’s features are a step up in quality and speed, which will benefit all our clients in the marketing of their businesses.”

John McDowall has identified further growth areas in sheetfed and reelfed work. “There are also more specialised printing areas that am keen to expand into, such as niche markets within the food industries.”

McDowall Print was established in 1984 after being acquired by John, formerly of Whitcoulls Invercargill print division. It has grown from five to 15 staff and operates a mix of offset and digital equipment.
