Media Super to be NPA major sponsor

The National Print Awards has a major sponsor, Media Super, which will take the naming rights for the annual competition, now known as the Media Super National Print Awards. It will also present two awards. Media Super is already a ‘generous’ supporter for the state-based awards and a number of other key industry initiatives. Graeme Russell, CEO of Media Super, says this new arrangement is a reflection of the importance Media Super places on supporting its own industry.

Russell says, “Our commitment to the print and graphic communications sector is well known and we are always looking for ways in which we can provide support for important industry initiatives. “The National Print Awards have made an enormous contribution to the industry for more than 30 years. They encourage and recognise the achievement of excellence in print in this country – and of course, also provide a wonderful opportunity each year for our industry to come together and celebrate its achievements.” Bill Healey, CEO of Printing Industries Association of Australia, says this new partnership agreement will see Media Super significantly increase its financial support for the Awards. Healey says, “As well as a name change to the Media Super National Print Awards, the new partnership will see the continuation of the Media Super Young Executive of the Year Award, which recognises the achievements and leadership qualities of young people in the industry, and the reintroduction of the Media Super Industry Legend Award, which will pay tribute to someone who has made an outstanding contribution to the industry over his or her career.” He says these two awards will not replace any of the other awards, which include Gold Sponsor Awards by Heidelberg Australia, Currie Group and Fuji-Xerox Australia, and will be judged by a ‘specially appointed panel of industry leaders’ in consultation with Media Super representatives. Russell says, “We will continue to work closely with Printing Industries and the wider industry to ensure that an NPA gold continues to provide the ultimate recognition for print service providers in Australia, and the Media Super National Print Awards remains the pre-eminent event on the Australian graphic arts calendar.” The National Print Awards is on the last night of PrintEx15, which will be held at Sydney Olympic Park from May 13 to 15, and the awards night will be at Waterview in Bicentennial Park.
