Over drinks and canapés visitors were taken through the capabilities of the new bizhub Press C7000 and bizhub Press C6000, which the manufacturer claims prints “close to offset quality”.
The event was the first major joint event for Konica Minolta and Heidelberg since the companies signed an exclusive agreement at Ipex earlier this year. The world first deal enables Australian customers to buy Konica Minolta digital print solutions through Heidelberg.
Commenting on the evening, David Cooke, executive general manager, direct operations and marketing at Konica Minolta Australia said the collaboration between the companies was bring benefits to both their customers.
He said, “It’s a good marriage, Heidelberg recognised the need to offer digital to its Australian customers and they found Konica Minolta to be a good cultural fit. If you go back five years Konica Minolta wasn’t big in the production market but now we have a 35 per cent market share thanks to the technology coming out of Japan.”
Also commenting, John Kirkham, general manager sales southern region at Heidelberg Australia said, “It’s early days yet but the collaboration with Konica Minolta has showed a lot of success. And it’s good to see a mix of our customers come together for an event like this.”
On the night, visitors heard that the new bizhub Press C7000 and C6000 digital colour presses were built on the company’s flagship bizhub C8000, designed for light production printing.
With a print speed of up to 71 and 60 pages per minute respectively and an impressive maximum input capacity of up to 7,500 sheets, the bizhub PRESS C6000 and C7000 handle maximum monthly volumes of around 330,000 prints with ease, according to Konica Minolta.
