That fruit includes Océ high volume inkjet systems, married with manroland inline folding solutions. Peter Kuisle, manroland board member in Australia for the show says, “The whole idea is to develop industrial inkjet solutions. Océ has the inkjet technology with its Jetstream and Colorstream solutions, and of course manroland has unrivalled expertise in web folding systems.”

According to Kuisle the first such systems are starting to go in around the world, imn newspaper and book printing plants. Kuisle says, “A key is that manroland speaks the language of commercial printers, we understand their business and can help them see the benefits of high speed inkjet.”

The company has set an initial target of Euro100m revenue from its collaboration with Océ, roughly 10 per cent of its entire business, so there is no doubt this is a serious and long term venture.

On the stand manroland was highlighting its Vapon value added print solutions, including its service solutions and consumables. Steve Dunwell, managing director of manroland Australasia says, “It has been two years since manroland launched a direct subsidiary in Australia, and service was our key strategy. That strategy has clearly paid off, we are helping manroland printers to get more from their presses.”
