
The 6.5 million print run is for the English language version of the book, which features Brown’s academic protagonist Robert Langdon reprised from his earlier appearances in previous bestsellers The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons.
The Da Vinci Code has sold around 81 million copies since being published in 2003.
The launch of The Lost Symbol will be preceded by a major marketing campaign over the coming months.
