News Limited upgrades printing press in Adelaide

The upgrade will improve the print quality of The Advertiser and Sunday Mail, the 11 titles which make up Messenger Community Newspapers, as well as locally printed editions of The Australian.

In addition to the increase in colour capacity, Advertiser Newspapers have purchased magazine production equipment which will double the company’s newsprint magazine publishing capabilities

John Hartigan, chief executive of News Limited says more than a million South Australians read the company’s national, metro and community papers each week and they will all benefit from higher quality, more vibrant publications.

He says, “For our valued customers it means a significantly improved platform from which to reach this huge, engaged audience. And for our national advertisers, it means that, for the first time, we will be providing consistent colour placement across the News Limited metropolitan newspaper network.”

Michael Miller, managing director of Advertiser Newspapers says the upgrade signalled News Limited’s great confidence in the South Australian market.

He says, “Adelaide has gone through a period of real change over the past few years and we see great opportunities for local growth. News Limited’s stable of publications, play a vital role in the community and have an unrivalled connection with their readers.

“It is fitting that their world-class content is matched by world-class print quality.”
