Newstyle Printing has sprung a PICAs surprise by finishing ahead of perennial powerhouse Finsbury Green.
The 75-staff Adelaide firm was the leading performer at the South Australia & Northern Territory awards with five gold medals and the Media Super Excellence in Print Award.

Finsbury Green followed on from last year's haul of eight golds with another four and the Fujifilm & Fuji Xerox Excellence in Digital Print Award.
Newstyle won two gold medals in 2012, four in 2011 and five in 2010. Its best result came in 2009, when it took home seven gold medals and the Heidelberg Excellence in Craft Award, said general manager Kym Burns.
"We've put some good people in good places and the results have appeared," he told ProPrint.
"People like using us. They know we can hit the deadlines with good quality and that's what it's all about. People can really trust us. There's no dramas using us and we're stress-free people to work with."
Burns said Newstyle was poised to bring all its finishing in-house – a second-hand Wohlenberg burstbinder is due to be installed in December after a Bagel laminator was added about six months ago.
"Apart from helping with the bottom line, you also get a better grasp on what's going on and can maintain tight controls," he said.
Newstyle's main production machine is a 10-colour Komori Lithrone perfector, said Burns.
Meanwhile, Lane Print & Post also performed strongly at the PICAs with three gold medals. Five companies each won two golds: Label Partners, Collotype Labels Adelaide, Custom Cartons, Openbook Howden Design & Print and Terry Howe Printing.
There were also 13 single winners: Arte Grafica Printing, Bowden Group, Cadillac Printing, Cutler Innovative Print Solutions, Detmold Packaging, Digiwedoo, Express Colour Printing, Kwik Kopy Norwood, Multi-Color SA, Rodney Robertson & Associates, Rural Press Printing Murray Bridge, Visualcom and West Press.
Openbook Howden took home the EML Excellence in Craftsmanship Award and Printak claimed the Zero Waste SA Award, while Darius Kooth from Print Graphic Displays won the Media Super-LIA Future Leader Award.
