Nipson in demand on demand

Alfons Buts, Nipson president, said at drupa that on demand was not a technology for the future – it was now. On demand formed around ten per cent of the company’s total business, and climbing rapidly.

The company launched two new high-speed digital presses at drupa, the Varypress 200 and Varypress 400. The presses are extensions of existing Nipson models, with overhauls on three core components – the writing head, print drum and toner formulation.

Flexibility was one of the most important factors for printers using Nipson equipment, and the new machines have been designed with this in mind, Buts says.

The Varypress 200 runs full specification quality at its full speed of 70m / min, giving printers a significant added advantage. The Varypress 400 is what the company describes as a true high volume workhorse. Its high speed allows operation in line with traditional offset presses as well as in multiple stand-alone configurations.
