Nulab top in Asia Pacific awards

Nulab Professional Imaging’s digital printing technology took out the top three prizes in the 2016 HP Asia Pacific and Japan Digital Print Excellence Awards in Israel.

Nulab’s photo technology, which was developed alongside HP Indigo, won the three biggest awards, for its photobook, book, and art printing, as judged by a panel of print, graphics and advertising professionals.

The work was printed on an HP Indigo 7800 modified specifically for Nulab’s new Enviropix branded photo paper, and was up against hundreds of other entries from 15 countries around the region.

Nulab currently houses the only two machines in the world printing with the specific ink combinations, which Warshall has developed with HP physicists and chemists. HP will unveil the new 7900 system at drupa this year.

Warshall says the tonal quality produced from Indigo digital printing is the source of Nulab’s success at the awards, and the transition from silver halide bolstered its position in the photo printing industry.

The professional photo printer has produced Enviropix since the product’s debut in February following an arduous 20-month development process alongside HP Indigo, colour scientists, physicists and workflow specialists.

According to Warshall, Nulab is one of the most awarded digital printers in Australia, and its accolades have been echoed by clients pleased with the quality.
