Océ third quarter sales jump

Chairman of Océ’s board of executive directors Rokus van Iperen says Océ has shown clear improvement during the third quarter as demonstrated by the growth in sales of printing systems reaching double digit level.

“This continuing growth in new machine sales has led to a stabilisation in revenues from service contracts, which account for 45 per cent of Océ’s turnover,” says van Iperen. “The trend now appears to have turned, and gives us grounds for optimism about future prospects.”

Océ recently announced its acquisition of Imagistics International Inc, a US distributor of copiers and printers with revenues of USD$609m.

van Iperen says this will strengthen the company’s distribution power in the US. “We expect the operating income from commercial activities in 2005 to be significantly higher than the 2004 result,” he says.

Océ’s third quarter results also showed revenues corrected for the sale of leases increased by three per cent on an organic basis, and revenues from service contracts rose by 0.2 per cent thanks to the continuing increase in the sales of new printing systems.
