Offset Alpine renews commitment to colour standards

In October of 2008, Offset Alpine achieved Fogra’s PSO certification with colour specialist Luke Wooldridge from Kayell Australia, overseeing the process and audit. Fogra’s PSO certification was valid for two years, after which time the process had to be undertaken again.

For Offset Alpine this meant another comprehensive audit at the end of 2010 of its prepress and plate-making departments as well as its ability to print to ISO 12647-2 standards on both sheet-fed and web presses. Once again Kayell worked with Offset Alpine throughout the certification process.

Commenting on the renewal, Wooldridge says, “Achieving the ISO standard is one thing. But maintaining the standard requires dedication to quality, process control and staff training.

“The fact that Offset Alpine has again chosen to undergo Fogra’s demanding evaluation to ISO 12647-2 proves not only their commitment to these attributes but also outlines the value they place in certification by Fogra.”

As in 2008, a 5000 sheet print run on the sheet-fed press and a 10,000 print run on the web press were again submitted to Fogra in Germany for evaluation before receiving their certification.

Also commenting, Andreas Johansson, Director for Graphic Arts at Kayell says, “It’s encouraging to see large professional printers, such as Offset Alpine, continue with their Forga PSO certification. This proves the value it adds to both Offset Alpine and their customers.”
