Online document editors offer the ‘missing link’ for boosting productivity

Colour Process managing director Yves Roussange said investments in productivity would be undermined if printers didn’t eliminate the bottlenecks that come from managing clients’ artwork.

He said web-based editor Aproove could reduce turnarounds by speeding up the sharing, editing and sign-off of artwork.

Serge Lo Grasso, the Belgium-based vice-president of sales and marketing at Aproove, was in Australia to explain the benefits of the system, giving ProPrint a hands-on demo.

He said the software’s key feature was its ease-of-use, because editors were pointless if clients didn’t want to use them.

“Don’t buy the product for you but your customer, to create the link between you and them,” he told ProPrint.

Aproove provides high-res file previews and allows agencies to share files with end clients through email invitations, said Roussange.

Faster annotation is achieved because there is only one tool that automatically switches modes between text, image and layout, he said.

Versioning control and display allows users to compare ‘before’ and ‘after’ versions, while ‘push’ technology ensures that edits automatically appear without having to refresh the browser, he said.

Aproove can be used with iPhones, iPads and Android mobile devices, he said.
