Orora completes acquisition

Packaging heavyweight Orora has finalised its acquisition of American printer Register Print Group. The deal finalised on January 5 with Orora buying Register Print Group for $59m.

Orora CEO Nigel Gerrard says the acquisition was used to grow the company.

“The staff are all remaining and we bought a successful business and we will use that platform to grow. They will be a key component to our growth,” he said.

“We have no intention to sell equipment, if anything we are adding equipment. I think in the short term we will keep the name,” he adds.

Gerrard’s plans for 2017 are to continue to develop Register Print Group and the other acquired company, IntegraColor.

“We are looking to establish a national point-of-purchase and now we have IntegraColor and Register Print Group and the key component was continuing to grow these and invest in those businesses and continue other growth plans and that may and may not include other acquisitions.”

His plan is to use a combination of both internal growth and acquisitions to grow Orora.
