OMA says the results, which are exclusive of commission, production and installation, show a 5.5 per cent growth for the month from $48.6m for last year’s August to $51.2m. Out-of-Home (OOH) revenue for year-to-date has increased by 15.8 per cent, tracking at $402.1m, up from $347.2m for the same time last year. However, digital is soaring as well with the year-to-date results showing an increase of 24.4 per cent of total revenue, up from 15.8 per cent for the same period prior year. Speaking with Australian Printer, Charmaine Moldrich, OMA CEO, says “It was a big month for the publicly-listed OMA members that reported significant EBITDA growth to the market. “Out-of-Home continues to grow despite the reported slowdown of the Australian economy and the fluctuations in the stock market. “I believe this growth can be sustained because our audiences keep growing and our digital and static networks are poised to reach the nine out of ten Australians who leave home each day.”

Category figures for August 2015 results show roadside Billboards (over and under 25 square metres) recording $17.8 million. Roadside other, which includes street furniture, taxis, bus/tram externals, and small format made $15.6m. While transport (including airports) accounted for $9.6m, retail and lifestyle made $8.3m. Moldrich says the OOH industry finished 2014 with a record $602m revenue, a 10 per cent increase from 2013.
