PacPrint opens the doors for first show post-COVID

After three years without a print industry trade show in Australia, PacPrint is now officially open with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony used to mark the occasion in Melbourne.

Over 100 exhibitors across the industry are in Melbourne this week to showcase the latest in print technologies at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

Federal MP for McNamara, Josh Burns, helped the Visual Connections board cut the ribbon to open the event at the MCEC which runs to this Friday 1 July.

“The printing industry has played a huge role in my life. My father has worked in the industry for over 30 years and my sister works in packaging and I spent my summers on the factory floor buggering up many orders in the digital and screen printing business and working in despatch putting bits of plastic in large prints and it was a wonderful experience,” Burns told the audience gathered to watch the eagerly anticipated opening ceremony.

“What I learned very quickly was the precision of the work that is involved. The precision of connecting design to the factory floor and making everything look marvelous. Australia is really very proud of our industry and the know-how and the skills that are involved in it.

“I wish you a very successful fair and I wish you good business after these few years that have been extremely difficult.”

PacPrint runs until this Friday with a range of forum discussions taking place throughout the week on all manner of topics of interest to the sector.
