PIAA to help printers cut power bills and get carbon tax smart

The free one-day workshops, which will run throughout July and August, aim to help companies identify how to reduce electricity costs and minimise the impact of power price hikes, which are due to be announced this Friday.

PIAA national manager, learning and development, Ian Walz (pictured) said five workshops were scheduled for Sydney.

“It is really important that companies reassess their power consumption and look at ways to become more energy efficient because these expected electricity price increases will have a significant impact on their bottom line,” he said.

“On top of that, we are headed for a carbon constrained economy, so managing electricity consumption becomes an ever greater imperative.

“PIAA is trying to minimise this pain because it will become a very real economic threat for many businesses, particularly where margins are low and business conditions are challenging.”

The courses are limited to 10 participants each and are scheduled to run between 21 July and 18 August. Fort more information, contact Ian Walz on (02) 8789 7362  or ian@printnet.com.au
