PICAs kick off for 2009

Tasmania held its PICA event on Saturday night, with Hobart-based company Print Applied Technology the big winner, picking up the ‘Heidelberg Platinum PICA for outstanding overall entry in print’ and the ‘Currie Platinum PICA for most innovative use of imaging in print’.

Western Australia is next cab off the rank, with their awards set to take place on August 22.

Printing Industries is urging printers to submit entries as soon as possible, with submission deadlines approaching for many states.

“Please remember that there is no direct entry into the National Print Awards, the only way a company will be able to win a National Print Award is if they win that category in their respective State Award first,” said Printing Industries national communication and technical services manager Joe Kowalewski.

Western Australia: tickets for the awards ceremony are still available and can be ordered by contacting lee@printnet.com.au or on (08) 9361 4625.

South Australia and Northern Territory: entries close August 21, with the presentation dinner scheduled for October 23.
