James Murphy, managing director, Australia, Pitney Bowes spoke to Australian Printer journalist Alex Milic. He says, “The expo is a chance for us to showcase our latest equipment targeting the print sector. We have equipment that enables communication management. We have envelope and address printers on show, and folding and inserting equipment, which is suited for people that are looking at finding another revenue stream to their business.”
Murphy says, “We have had a great amount of interest shown in the machines, it has been successful for us. Part of this is also showing the additional capabilities we can bring to the customers by building loyalty.”
The newest model on show was the DI950 designed to meet high end demands of mailers with a wide variety of applications suited for medium and large sized businesses and mail centres.
Murphy says, “We have a spare parts engineering service team throughout Australia, which gives our customers immediate support when they need it.”
The technology advances in the DI950 include a tower feeder that will hold up to four interchangeable feeders and a high capacity envelope feeder that increases the speed of jobs.
Both the tower feeder and the high capacity sheet feeder integrate the latest scanning technology to process both simple and complex jobs.
The key benefits of the new machine is the PacPilot control pane which according to Pitney Bowes is easy to use and an automatic set up for up to 20 stored jobs. The machine can produce up to 5400 pieces per hour and 120,000 pieces per month.
It supports a wide range of envelope sizes, including small envelopes and eliminates the need to complete some jobs by hand while the high capacity envelope feeder loads on the go and holds up to 500 envelopes.
Darren Higgins, marketing manager – Australia, Pitney Bowes says the company is looking forward to interacting with customers and potential new customers during the three expo days across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
The Brisbane expo will be held at Traders Hotel on May 22, while the Melbourne expo will be held at the Park Hyatt on May 29.
