Pozitive sells 10-year-old swissQprint Nyala 2 to Signing Up

Pozitive Sign & Graphics Supplies has confirmed the sale of a refurbished 10-year-old swissQprint Nyala 2 flatbed printer to Sydney based printing company, Signing Up.

The swissQprint machine was previously owned by Allprint Graphics and exchanged for the company’s second swissQprint Kudu, delivered in February 2025.

Allprint’s first Kudu was ordered at FESPA in 2023 and was installed in January 2024.

Pozitive Sign & Graphics Supplies owner and managing director, Philip Trumble, discussed the 10-year-old machine that is currently on display at the company’s new premises at Emu Plains.

“We would love to show the very latest from swissQprint – the Generation 5 Nyala – in our showroom now, but it will be here for PacPrint in May. What we have at the moment – is a machine that is not the very latest – a Nyala 2 – but that isn’t a bad thing as it is a machine that was sold in 2015, and it has been out working day in and day out for 10 years,” he said.

“Allprint Graphics has upgraded to a new Kudu – and this machine has come back to us for refurbishment. For a 10-year-old printer, the quality of the work coming off it is amazing and printing like the day it first went in.

“The industrial print heads on the swissQprint machines don’t need to be frequently changed like other products. Only a few of the 12 print heads have been changed in 10 years and it is still printing perfectly – it is unbelievable.

“In a couple of weeks that will be going out to Signing Up and giving amazing swissQprint flatbed quality. We always talk about swissQprint having a long service life. With swissQprint, we talk about 10 years, 15 years and even more. It is easy to say, but we are proud to show this 10-year-old printer and see the quality it is still producing.”

Pozitive national equipment sales manager, Alfred David, said Pozitive so confident about the quality of the machine, the 10-year-old machine will be sold with a warranty.

“We are so confident about the quality of this machine, we have sold this refurbished machine with a 12-month parts and labour warranty,” David said.

“What we love about swissQprint is this 10-year-old machine continues to operate just as it did on day one. We have barely changed anything with this machine – we gave it a clean and a service and updated some of the bearings, but many parts have not been changed since it was first sold.

“Obviously some technology has changed and newer machines have some different features and operate a bit faster, but this machine looks brand new and will happily find a new home and probably operate for another 10 years. This is the fourth machine over 10 years old that has come back to us and then gone back out to a new home. Some people don’t need high volumes – but they want the versatility, quality and reliability of these a swissQprint machine.”
