Stake holders say Superfine has “stood down” a number of staff and called in insolvency specialist Dean Willcocks Shepard as voluntary administrators this week, after a halt in production at the Arncliffe facility.
David Fuller, managing director of Focus Press told Australian Printer the production stoppage was due to damage on its Heidelberg ten-colour machine and a number of guillotines, which had shifted due to construction at next door premises.
Fuller says, “Superfine is in administration to sort out the insurance claim on the press, so our agreement to create Superfine In Focus is on hold but ready to go.
“The reports are saying that the sight is unstable so production has completely stopped and staff have been stood down. We are not sure what’s going to happen at this stage, but we are supporting Superfine with our resources and staff.”
A creditors meeting is scheduled for May 25.
