Prinect colour toolbox optimises gray balance

The company says the correct gray balance can be achieved during platesetting thanks to a more precise process calibration. With this method, the operator prints a test form after the printing plates have been linearized and calibrates these to create the necessary measurement data.

Data records derived from these colorimetric measurements and the reference printing conditions make a precise process calibration possible. The result of integrating Prinect with the press in this way means less paper waste and shorter makeready, according to Heidelberg.

The company continues that with its quality monitor, calibration tool and profile tools modules, the Prinect Color Toolbox also enables simple, continuous monitoring of the printing process.

Christopher Berti, head of Prinect product management at Heidelberg says, “We have already received some very positive feedback from the first customers using the tool. They are particularly impressed with its very simple operation. Evidently, the less the customer has to rely on his instincts in colour management, the quicker he achieves a better print result.”
