The Hong Kong International Printing and Packaging Fair will offer a strong line-up of attractive and functional printing and packaging product designs from highly experienced Hong Kong manufacturers.
The event is being co-organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC) and CIEC Exhibition Co, and will run from April 8 to 11, 2006.
TDC assistant executive director Benjamin Chau says being one of the world’s four largest printing centres, Hong Kong’s gross output of printing and packaging materials exceeded US$4.3 billion in 2004, enhancing its status as the hub for printing and packaging industries in the Asia Pacific region.
“The local packaging industry is supported by a strong printing industry while the companies in both sectors are famous for quick response, flexibility in customising products for their customers and short delivery lead time,” says Chau. “The ability to meet high quality requirements has allowed Hong Kong to become a top printing and packaging centre in the world.”
CIEC managing director Xie Sen Shu says another reason for overseas businessmen flocking to Hong Kong’s printing and packaging suppliers is that they are supported by highly professional services, ranging from editing, translating and copywriting to creative design and stock photo libraries.
The expo will allow machinery and consumables suppliers to get in touch with printing and packaging companies from South East Asia and South China, all under the one roof.
“Apart from equipment and consumables, the fair also features printing houses which promote printing and packaging services to companies needing this kind of services. Service companies like banks, hotels, travel agencies, retailers, as well as marketing and advertising professionals in fact are demanding much for printing and packaging products and services.”
Major exhibit categories at the fair include, printing and packaging services; prepress services, graphic arts and design services; printing and packaging machineries and equipment; printing and packaging materials and accessories; consumables; finishing and converting services; latest printing and packaging technologies; multimedia technologies and services; consultancy and training services; and equipment repair and maintenance services.
